Beading

I have definitely had way too many days off. There are dog toys all over the floor and the dinner dishes are in the sink - just sitting. And here I am just goofing off on the computer. My New Year's Resolution is to spend less time at the computer but - what the heck, I am having a good time.

Today Christie and I headed out to visit a plantation - Middleton Place. First off I realized that I had forgotten my camera. How could I?? The person who likes to post pictures rather that write words forgot her camera. And then it started getting really wet and damp and cloudy and not nice outside and the plantation is a garden tour so who wants to be outdoors, right? OK, we gave in and went to the craft store to buy more beads and then went home to play.

We have been doing this beading thing for a year but very casually and now we have bought tools and supplies and lots of bright and shinny beads. It is so much fun. We sit together and laugh and talk and get silly and get creative. And the dogs run and play at our feet. What could be better?

Here are some pictures of some of the things we have done. Remember that we really are just starting and are mostly just having fun!

The earrings have a lovely story. The silver filigree is from my mother. I remember her wearing them. But the earring part was missing. So today Christie remade them and they are just as beautiful as they were 40 years ago, don't you think?
