Thanksgiving 2010

Here are some pictures from our Thanksgiving Day. We all enjoyed Christie's cooking a little too much I think. Trying to keep it simple today!
Mannie loved getting up in the tree house with sister Sidney.  He was up there for the longest time just laughing, yelling, jumping and having a grand time.
Casey, Kirby and Maurice lined up for a picture for me while they were watching the turkey cook - Cajun Style!
Here is Heather, Mannie and Christie at the dinner table. Christie is such a great cook! She learned from the best of course!
Isn't that a beauty?!  We devoured it!  Michael smoked a turkey also so there was no shortage of bird!

Family Time!

Thanksgiving is a time for family and we have visitor's! Yea! Michael's daughter (Michael is my daughter's husband), Heather and her family have come to visit from Pennsylvania. It is all so fun as I am 'Grammy' to all of them! I love it!

Yesterday we all went downtown for a walk around Charleston - even little Mannie did a great job of walking the 3-4 miles we covered. We started at the Battery, walked all the way up to Fuel to have lunch and then back to Market Street where the men left us to browse the beads while they returned to get the cars and pick us up! We took all three of the yellow dogs! Jake had a blast. He had never done anything like this and was so pleased and well behaved all day. He even learned to wait while I put the leash between my knees to free up my hands to take a picture...which I did about 70 times!

Kirby's Birthday

Wow, way too much time has passed. I never know what to do here because I do the 365 project and Facebook too and sometimes this just seems so redundant. You tell me - should I just give this up?

Anyway, it is Kirby's birthday this week and here are a couple of pictures from our celebration at the Man Cave on Sunday evening. Everyone joined in to wish him well and eat some chocolate coconut cake - homemade of course.

Fishing Camp

(click on pictures to enlarge them)
See, I took so many pictures when Patti and Dave were here that I still have them. And I will have more tomorrow. I loved this picture of Patti with her camera. You can't imagine how much fun we had taking pictures of the same settings. The interesting thing is that some our pictures are very, very similar and some are extremely different. Obviously she doesn't have this picture of herself!!
Just some cool fishing boxes.
The fish netting was being used as a sun shelter. Not much shade but I guess it might help.

I didn't expect to see lobster cages but I think that is what these are. It was fun poking around and I could have taken a dozen more pictures. (you aren't seeing all of them or you would be bored silly buy me!)

More of Folly Beach

Not quite Hawaii, Lee! But this guy is having a good time anyway. Don't anyone tell him there are no waves on the Atlantic!
I stood under the pier and took a picture of the tide coming it. It was awesome standing there watching the ever-changing scene in front of me.
Beautiful, beautiful beach! I love South Carolina!

Keep the Beach Clean

I loved this sign at Folly Beach. I will return tomorrow with more pictures from Folly!

Sunday Brunch Atop the Holiday Inn Hotel

We had a great Sunday Brunch atop the Holiday Inn Hotel. I had never been there and as we drove by in search of a good place to eat, Dave assured us they would have food so we parked and gave it a try. It was a good choice. The food was good, the view was awesome and the company was perfect!! This is my favorite picture - my sister, Patti!!
I love the bridges and we could see a few from this vantage point.

Sisters

My sister, Patti, and her husband, Dave, came to visit this weekend from Georgia. We crammed so much into one weekend that we were all exhausted by Monday when they left. (the dogs were pretty tired too!)

Patti on the left and me on the right.

My daughter and her family joined us on Saturday evening for a dinner of peel n eat shrimp and then we played Mexican Train - a family tradition. I think Patti won but I always feel that I won because I go by "Whoever has the most fun wins!" and that is usually me!

We were celebrating 5 birthdays - Mine, Christie's, Patti's, Dave's and Kirby's (only Kirby was traveling). We all have November birthdays. We let Brendan and Michael come anyway!! :)

On Sunday we went to breakfast atop the Holiday Inn overlooking Charleston, Folly Beach and then downtown Charleston. I will post some of those pictures as the week goes on.

Halloween Was FUN!!

We had such a good time on Halloween. We set a table out on the driveway of the ManCave House and put all the candy on it. They came and came. We heard of people who only had one or two trick or treaters but we had quite a few and they were so much fun. I asked each group to pose for a picture and they were all so willing and having such a good time.

And some weren't sure what was going on.
Some were almost dangerous!

And oh, so scary!

And beautiful!
And in awe of it all! So many choices.
Sugar makes us oh, so happy!

Whole families got into the act!

Our beautiful Nicole!
And Corey, who worked for 2 days to make his shield, knife and a sword that is on his back. No assistance...he did it all by himself!
